Toni-Leslie James has designed costumes at Lincoln Center Theatre in New York City for The House of Bernarda Alba, Dessa Rose, Elegies, Marie Christine, A New Brain, God's Heart, Chronicle of a Death Foretold and Hello Again; on Broadway for Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, One Mo' Time, King Hedley II, Footloose, The Tempest (Drama Desk nomination), Twilight Los Angeles 1992, Angels in America, Jelly's Last Jam (American Theatre Wing Award, Tony Award® and Drama desk nominations). Ms, James' costume designs have also been created for productions at the following venues: The Public Theater, Second Stage, and City Center Encores! Williamstown Theatre Festival, Circle Rep., Hartford Stage, The Goodman Theatre, The Old Globe, The Mark Taper Forum, Seattle Rep., Berkeley Rep., The Long Wharf Theatre, Center Stage, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera and the Huntington Theatre. Some of Ms. James' television and film design credits include: "Whoopi," "As the World Turns," The Huey P. Newton Story and A Tale of Two Pizzas.
