3 Mo' Divas!
at Arena Stage, Kreeger Theater

From the Editors
Girl, can she sing! That's likely to be what theatergoers will be thinking when the women of '3 Mo'
Divas!' belt out opera, Broadway, jazz, blues, soul, new school, spiritual and gospel songs. The
emphasis in this medley of music is on tunes that let female voices really shine. Backed by six
musicians, the divas dip into Bach, Beyonce, Gershwin, Gounod, Schubert, Sondheim, Ellington and the Supremes -- and come out with a whopping earful for music lovers. Clad in little black dresses, the women demonstrate incredible vocal versatility and just might leave you begging for three mo' songs.
Arena Stage's production of '3 Mo' Divas!' features six singers (two casts) to cover the vocal
demands of the show: Gretha Boston, Andrea Jones-Sojola, N'Kenge, Nina Negri, Jamet Pittman
and Vivian Reed. This is the DC-area premiere of the show, and it's directed and choreographed by show creator Marion J. Caffey, who also directed the 2005 Arena Stage revival of 'Crowns' and created 'Three Mo' Tenors.'
Tip: Come decked out in funky summer duds to the performance on Aug. 1 for a chance to win the honor of Zaniest Summer Outfit and Arena Stage tickets. Cultural Tourism DC will also be giving the audience iced tea and souvenir fans.
